I am writing this extra blog post as i am enjoying the Digital Citizen RISE Challenge. I think i am doing well so far. I have made three blog entries, one comment on another blog (and copied it into my own blog here), i have also planned and pretty much stuck to my activity log which included three days not on the computer.

Comment on another blog....
This week i commented on Mr Theo's blog in response to his post about the excitement of reading books..
I wrote:
I think this video is about getting stuck into a book like the book mark in the animation. I liked the way that the clip changed speed from really slow at the start and got really fast when the book mark was being thrown about by the action in the book.
Blog Entry Three - Week 1
FRIDAY
Today i checked out the Hutt Valley Netball Website with my sister as she is playing Netball tomorrow and always likes ot check what court she is playing on. I found it quite a hard website to navigate through. We had to get Mum to help us find the court and time.
I also had a look at the Stuff Website which is a news website for NZ. It talked about the man who is in a Thai hospital and has had money raised for his care as the doctors in Thailand wont keep treating him unless they get paid. I thought it was quite nice of those strangers to raise and donate so much money.
I am going to my friends birthday tomorrow. It will be fun and i am really looking forward to it.
Blog Entry Two - Week 1
TUESDAY 17th
Today i checked out the websites Wonderopolis and Kiwi Kids News. I watched a short video about organic vegetables where a girl was growing potatoes in various containers. It was to show the use of a chemical called Bud nip which stops vegetables from sprouting. I found it really interesting that non organic vegetables may have potentially dangerous chemicals in them. I think i am going to try and find out more information about Organic Vegetables. Check out the video here.
On the kiwikids news website i looked at a page about Matariki. It was interesting, i didn't know that the latin name for Matariki is Pleiades.

Introduction
Kia ora - My name is River Tomlinson. I am a student in Kakapo class at Sacred Heart School.
This is a blog that will showcase what i know about being a digital citizen. I will be updating this blog at least three times per week and will be sharingw hat i have been looking at online.
I will find other blogs from different classes in my school and also other blogs from different schools and comment on them. It would be great to see you comment on my blog - i will reply asap if you do.
I will be keeping this blog going for at least five weeks - that way i will earn a RISE Challenge.
